NATIVE FASHION SHOW THUNDER RUN AT BUFFALO THUNDER JAN. 23

SANTA FE, NM - Donatella Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, move over. Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino is commemorating the launch of its second edition of Thunder Magazine, Fashion! with a very special fashion show Saturday, Jan. 23, 6 - 8 p.m. Thunder Run is an opportunity for New Mexicans to enjoy chic Native fashion, great food and spirits while benefiting a worthy cause. Donations will be collected for the Northern New Mexico Boys & Girls Clubs (Boys & Girls Club del Norte, Chama and Abiquiu; Boys & Girls Club of Santa Fe and the Boys & Girls Club of Pojoaque.) The event is free and open to the public.

Native designers including Michelle Tapia Browning, Patricia Michaels, Penny Singer, Pilar Agoyo and Jerry Ingram will showcase their designs with New Mexico models on the catwalk at Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino. Many of their designs are featured in the new Thunder Magazine, which was published this month. These talented designers will light up the runway as they serve up a vibrant explosion of color and culture. Augusta Meyers, Communications Manager for the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and former KOAT news anchor, will emcee the event.

Native Americans have long fashioned beautifully fabricated clothes that are both ceremonial and utilitarian. The Native fashion scene has exploded recently, as artists draw on a mix of the modern and traditional to make clothes uniquely indigenous yet utterly contemporary. Buffalo Thunder, in its effort to support Native arts, is presenting this opportunity to view the hottest fashions in a venue that will give viewers a taste of Paris and Milan-infused with storied Native American flair.

"We are thrilled to be hosting this special fashion show at Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino, and proud that it benefits such a great cause," says Kelly Toscano, Buffalo Thunder's Director of Creative Services. "The donations from this event will go directly to the Northern New Mexico Boys & Girls Clubs, and our attendees will experience an unforgettable evening at Buffalo Thunder."

Guests will enjoy a savory selection of hors d'œuvres. Everyone will receive a goodie bag packed with tantalizing gifts, such as a copy of the Thunder Magazine Fashion! and Medicine Mountain body lotion, a signature offering of Buffalo Thunder Resort's luxurious Wo'P'in Spa.

Thunder Magazine, published by the Pueblo of Pojoaque and Governor George Rivera, is dedicated to showcasing the best of Native fashion and art, as well as the accomplishments of tribal members all across New Mexico.

Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino is partnering with the New Mexico Rail Runner and The Santa Fe TV Show to sponsor this event. The online Santa Fe TV Show debuted Friday, Dec. 11 at http://www.santafetvshow.com/.
