5- DAY WORKSHOP ON WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP

Santa Fe, NM- Nina Simons and Toby Herzlich will present the 2009 Cultivating Women's Leadership Training this August, designed for women looking to strengthen skills to accelerate progressive change in their communities and the Southwest. The participants will learn how powerfully women can strengthen each other, while exploring the unique qualities and opportunities that women bring to leadership.

This experiential training will involve cultivating practical skills such as:

Developing a stronger connection to purpose, the source of authentic leadership

  • Exploring the nature of shared leadership
  • Practicing reclaiming inner authority
  • Cultivating a practice of inner reflection to better align intentions and behavior
  • Investigating challenges with competition, power, self-limiting stories and internalized oppression
  • Exploring how to most effectively transform oneself and the world at large

Last year's participants spanned three generations, and their work ranged from youth education and community organizing to health care, environment, water, farming, and indigenous culture and food.

One former participant noted "I learned the true meaning behind community: the coming together, sharing, dividing, respecting, validating, sustaining and power within groups. I will take this back with me to continue to weave our world together."

This 5-day retreat will be offered by Rockwood Leadership trainer Toby Herzlich and Bioneers' co-founder Nina Simons. Nina helped start Bioneers in 1990 to advance positive change by featuring leading scientific and social innovators with innovative solutions to our most pressing challenges.
